How to limit filter for sub report graph..?

$
0
0

Hello friends,

I’m new to crystal reports and I’m using crystal report 11. I have created a crystal report with a sub report and that sub report filtered by 2 user parameters named “EMP_NAME” and “EVALUATION_YEAR”. Within the sub report I insert a group and in group footer I insert a chart. That chart filtered from above 2 user parameters and from group parameter.

The problem is I need to filter my sub report from “EMP_NAME” and “EVALUATION_YEAR” while filtering my chart only from “EMP_NAME” and GROUP PARAMETER.

Is there any way to do this?

Thank you.

Problem with barcode font

$

I am designing a report using Crystal Reports 2008 SP1. I am using the built in barcode fonts from Azalea software, the Code39 font, to produce a barcode from a database field. I added the data field to the report and used the "convert to barcode" function without doing anything else.

I have one record where it prints the barcode and the barcode is scannable. The data in the field is:

777+010002109+5+1+011013+

However, I have another record where the barcode prints but it is NOT scannable. The data in the field is:

XYZD-01+010002109+9+1+011013+

I did read on Azalea's site that I may need to add an asterisk (*) at the beginning and end of the data field for the start and stop bars. I tried this and it didn't print the barcode at all in either of the cases.

It seems like it doesn't scan when there are alpha characters in the data. Code 39 supports these though... What could I be doing wrong to cause the barcode not to scan?

formula for a field that refers to itself

Hi team,

Is there a workaround to use when in need of a formula that refers to the same field multiple times.... to clarify:

I am trying to write a report that shows the difference in equipment quantity. but the field used is the Serviceinfo.Qty

the only difference is the serviceinfouid.

How can I create the difference between the quantities if it derives from the same database field?

I have previously done that using a subreport but now want to know if there is not a more elegant solution. I have attached a screenshot

THANKS

Conditional color formatting of crosstab

$

I have cross tab on which I have to apply conditional color formatting. The conditional formatting is to be applied on the summarized field and its color is dependent on the value of row column and the data in the summarized field.

example, my crosstab has  plan and actual as the values of the row field named status and the coulm field being event_month. Now the colour formatting is to be applied on summarized filed value which is max(event_month). How can this situation be put into a form of formula?

I've tried using the below mentiond formula on the background of the filed.

if {Command.e_event} <> ' '  and {Command.Status} = 'Plan' then craqua

else if {Command.e_event} = ' ' and {Command.Status} = 'Plan' then crgray

else if {Command.e_event} = ' ' and {Command.Status} = 'Actual' then crred

else if {Command.e_event} <> ' ' and {Command.Status} = 'Actual' then crgreen

but this is not giving me proper result, i've also tried using not isnull with the fileds but nothing seems to work.

Any sort of help would be appreciated.

BUG in PrintOutputController.PrintReport with CRRuntime_12_6_mlb.msi

Hi,

Problems with Report Application Server(RAS) component (PrintOutputController.PrintReport), instead of PrintToPrinter method

A customerwithCRRuntime_12_4_mlb.msiinstalledruntimeinformed us of thefollowing problem:

Documents are printed as the default printer options and don’t assume any changes for Duplex printer

Ifset to print on one side[1-sided] does not acceptthe option ofprinting onfront and back.

If set toprintduplexon  [2-sided], does not acceptthe option of printing on one sideof the page.

I supposed that the same problem at de forum:http://scn.sap.com/thread/3193889
(It works if you use PrintToPrinter, doesn't work with PrintOutputController).

That problem was corrected with CRRuntime_12_6_mlb.msi (CRRuntime_12_5_mlb.msi have the same problem as before).

Butthis newruntimeintroducedthe following BUG:
Concatenatedstrings withchr(13) are shownwith thelinefeed (ok), but are printedoverlapping(not ok)
It's strange becausethe problemoccurs only in theGroupand Report Footerand prints well, eg, forDetailssection!

The argument offaulty printdrivermust be rejectedbecause itprints wellwith CRRuntime_4.

What happened?

The PrinterToPrinter method is more efficient, but very slow.

Evolution Crystal Reports 2008 to Crystal Reports 2013

Hello,

We have na executable application that currently encapsulates de Crystal Reports 2008 and uses the runtimes to distribute for our clients to see the reports in desktop computers.

Thisapplicationwas formerly usingCrystal ReportsXI andCOM components. It waswith muchhard work and commitmentthat were migratedreportsandown applicationfor the platform .NET used byCrystalReports 2008!

The Evolution ofCrystal Reports 2008is through theCrystal Reports2013.
See discussionat http://scn.sap.com/thread/3455953

The question nowis:

Crystal Reports2013allowsthe use ofcr2008 reports (rpt)and distribution ofruntimesin our customers?

XSD data source?

$

I've been tasked with taking an existing report that runs from within an application and configuring it to run independently of the application so suit distribution needs.  While this doesn't violate any licensing terms, we don't have an active support contract with the vendor any longer, so I'm unable to get any assistance directly from them.

The report accesses data from a single MS SQL Server database.  However, the datasource of the .rpt is an .XSD file.  I've never worked with Crystal Reports from a .NET development perspective, which is what I'm assuming this relates to, and I can't find any meaningful SQL information within that file. The report is comprised of two dozen subreports.  If I attempt to just run the .rpt outside of the application, only two very basic queries (returning minimal useful information) are sent to the SQL database (verified with Profiler).  None of the subreports (all of which use the same .XSD datasource) make any SQL calls.  Also potentially worth noting, none of the subreports are linked to the main report...all data is passed around via shared variables from what I can tell.

What I'm trying to get around doing is running a SQL Profiler trace against the report in-application and then trying to extract the queries and match them up to the corresponding subreports.

Based on the limited information above, does anyone have any suggestions on how I should proceed?  Is what I'm attempting to do even feasible, or is it more likely that the meat of the information I need is held in the actual code of the application?

Trying to use custom function from Custom Functions Demo.rpt

I am trying to simply re-use the custom function that is in the Custom Functions Demo.rpt.  I have put the following code in a custom function in a new report (named the same thing) and I get a syntax error.

The error is:  "A ( is expected here"  where here it highlights the function name.

Here is the code:

Function cdFormatCurrencyUsingScaling(value As Currency,

    nDecimalPlaces As Number,

    thousandsSymbol as String,

    millionsSymbol as String) As String

    nDecimalPlaces = Round (nDecimalPlaces)

    If nDecimalPlaces < 0 Or nDecimalPlaces > 9 Then

        nDecimalPlaces = 2

    End If

If Abs (value) >= 1000000 Then

        cdFormatCurrencyUsingScaling = CStr (value / 1000000, nDecimalPlaces) + millionsSymbol

ElseIf Abs (value) >= 1000 Then

        cdFormatCurrencyUsingScaling = CStr (value / 1000, nDecimalPlaces) + thousandsSymbol

    Else

        cdFormatCurrencyUsingScaling = CStr (value, nDecimalPlaces)

    End If

End Function

Differences in ViewerFX versions

If this is not the right forum for this question, please direct me to the proper one.

How can I organize my Crystal Reports in ViewerFX v 2013?  In 2008 I can set up folders and organize them that way.  2013 doesn't seem to let me save a list (except the Recent list).

Do I need a BI platform to do this?

Thanks.

Conditional Section Supression Not Working

$

Hi,

I am new to CR and I am working my way through the exercises in the documentation.  I am on page 206 and am trying to conditionally suppress sections in my form letter.  I am using the Xtreme.mdb sample database.  I have the Customer and Credit tables linked in my project.

I have one details section that I am trying to suppress when {Credit.Amount} > 1500.0; and then another section that should be suppressed when {Credit.Amount} <= 1500.0;

Regardless of the amount I am always seeing the first section, when {Credit.Amount} > 1500.0, even when the credit value is < 1500.00?

I am using the section expert and put the statement in the formula section beside Suppress (No Dirll-Down).

Thanks!

SAP Crystal Reports Samples

Purpose

This Document lists sample reports using the SAP Crystal Reports Designer.

Overview

The document contain links to Windows, as well as Web applications in VB and C#.

Introduction

There are at least three "flavors" of the Crystal Reports Designer:

  1. The "classic" stand-alone designer. This includes all versions of Crystal Reports pre version 9.x as well as Crystal Reports 10.x, 11.0.x, 11.5.x, 12.0.x, and 14.x.
  2. SAP Crystal Reports that bundle with Visual Studio .NET. This includes version 9.1.x (bundled with VS 2001 and VS 2002), 10.2.x (bundled with VS 2005), 10.5.x (bundled with VS 2008) and 13.x (a free download for VS 2010 and 2012 (support for VS 2013 coming end of Q1 2014).
  3. SAP Crystal Reports For Enterprise, version 14.x

The samples listed in this document were created in the "classic" stand-alone designers. As the designer in the Visual Studio bundles is not fully featured, some of the design steps may not be applicable to those versions. Note that this is for the design steps only. A report created in the stand-alone designer will run with no issues in a runtime application. However, reports taking advantage of new features in later versions of Crystal Reports will obviously not function in older versions of Crystal Reports Designer or runtime applications. E.g.; dynamic or cascading parameters will not work in CR 10.x as these features were introduced in later version of Crystal Reports. Similarly, reports created in SAP Crystal Reports For Enterprise will not work at all in any other flavor of Crystal Reports - be it the classic stand-alone version or the Visual Studio Bundles.

Custom record sorting using letters and numbers

I have inventory locations with the numbering scheme being A1B1, A1B2, etc.  I'm encountering a problem with the normal sorting because the logical computer method of sorting and how they appear on out shelves is different.  I'm using the Record Sort Expert to sort ascending by location and I get:

A1B1

A1B10

A1B11

A1B12

A1B2

A1B3

I want it to sort in regular numerical order such as:

A1B1

A1B2

A1B3

A1B10

A1B11

A1B12

How can I do this?

Stored Procedure cannot accept multiple values issue

Hi,

I have a stored procedure in Oracle which has a input parameter named Company with VARCHAR2.

I have created a dropdown list in Business View Manager which displays Company names. Now, I would like to pass the selected companies from the dropdown to the stored procedure. But, when doing so, while creating the input parameter I'm getting the error "This stored procedure parameter cannot accept multiple values. Please ensure that Allow Multiple Values if false".

Basically, I would like to pass multiple selected company names from the crystal report in a comma separated value list to the procedure.

Can someone, please let me know what are the possible solutions to overcome this problem.

thanks,

Sathish
