Publication feature not available in SAP BusinessObjects ENTERPRISE XI Product Version: 12.5.3.1475.

Hi,

 

We have SAP BusinessObjects ENTERPRISE XI Product Version: 12.5.3.1475.

 

I wanted to use the Publication feature of BO to use report bursting feature and store the report runs in a shared folder, but I'm unable to see the Publication menu item when I click Manage -> New in CMC. I'm able to see only Object Package, Hyperlink and Folder menu items.

 

Is the version installed on our system doesn't have this feature OR do we need to buy additional licenses etc?

 

Please clarify the above.

Reg:Image on crystal report

Hi Team,

 

     We are using XI release 2 crystal report version.We are displaying image as a logo in report in two ways.

     1)Using direct path

     2)Using binary format

   

     In both case we are able to display images on crystal report but when i display image using byte[] (binary format) which is not clear.

     and tried to use default image path then the image size is big in report also it is displaying as a big image.

 

     Will you please suggest me in which it is better and it should clear even if is increase the PDF size image should not blur.

How to show many many columns

I have a report that is showing for each param (they enter the month year) about 10 columns of large number data.

the thing is, the user wants to enter 3 months ( 3 parms). and see all this. They are looking at, what they used of a Part# 12 mnths, 11 mnths, and 10 months back. then they also want to see what is on order for this part#. For the parm month, the next month and the month after that.

 

There are also some other cols.

 

so it's way too much for a CR line.

 

Any ideas how to make this? I am thinking if I can get the cr to run 3 times. For each of the parm months. but how to do this. or do you have a better idea?

Can "Can Grow" value set to be dynamically?

Hi,


There are times when building a Crystal Report that you want a field to be short and if the data is too long for the field for it to be wrapped and should change the field height dyanamically.  In My Case m setting can Grow property checked with 4 rows of limitation. And on parallel side i maintain spaces for this four rows when data is too large. It works fine in this case. But what if Data is short. It will still maintain that rows for short data.


          Is it possible that i can keep auto height for this field. Kindly help me out of this problem

Crystal Syntax WordFile

I'm working with a lot of my predecessor's code in Crystal Syntax, and since I'm still learning Crystal (I'm much more comfortable in VBS), I'd like to be able to highlight the syntax in a full text editor.  I currently use UltraEdit, but have had no luck in finding a wordfile (.uew) for Crystal Syntax.

Does anyone have one of these already created?  Alternately, does anyone know where CR stores its formula language definitions, or does anyone have a list of the various keywords and functions for Crystal Syntax?

Using Previous with Variable/Formula

I have one formula (formula1) that does some calculations and works well. I need to implement a second formula, which would be based on the value in formula1. I want formula2 to look something like this:

 

     IIf {fieldA.Value} = Previous{fieldA.Value}, IIf(formula1.Value <> Previous(formula1.value), formula1.Value, ""),"")

 

Each time I try that I get an error highlighting Previous(formula1.Value), saying "This field has no previous or next value".

 

I've tried to default the formula1 value if its the first record, I've moved the formulas around to different sections, but I can't seem to get rid of that error.

 

Is there a way to get around this?

 

Any help is appreciated!

Hi,

 

can you please suggest me how to use the calculated variable in graph. When I tried using the calculated variable the results that are provided is way bigger than the expected.

 

Formula used -

if 'A', 'B' and 'C' are my objects from the query in which A is a measure and B is a dimension then in the crystal report i am using sum(A)/Sum (A,B).

 

I have used Group expert and grouped the data by 'B', 'C'. The graph I am having will be displayed under the Group header of 'C'.

Totals for different time periods

I'm creating a linear report based on a Universe. The end user will enter a date range, within the current year, along with other identifying parameters. My report needs to display:

      (a) the total commission for the time period the user entered,

      (b) the total commission for the same time period of the previous year.

      (c) a career commission total,

      (d) the previous year's total commission, and

      (e) total commission year to date.

 

My dataset returns values based on the date range entered, where I can get the first commission total (a). I'm not sure how to get the rest of them.

 

I was thinking I would have to create several subreports, passing hidden parameter values for the different date ranges I need, but that seems pretty convoluted to me. Am I going about this all wrong?

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Passing single/multiple values to stored procedure parameter from crystal report

The same subject was raised by Mr. Vinay (kk mm) on 28 Feb 2012. I followed the same as he has mentioned in the solution to the above mentioned problem.

 

 

He commented as below

Resolution

Here are the steps to pass a multi-value parameter to a stored procedure:

1. Create a Crystal report, and add a multi-value parameter.

2. Since the multi-value parameter is treated as an array, create a formula that uses the JOIN function. Create a formula as below:

//Formula: @JoinFormula

Join ({?Multi-value parameter array},";")

============================================================

NOTE:

In the formula above, a semi-colon (";") is the delimiter.

============================================================

3. Within the main report, create a subreport based on the stored procedure, and include the parameter to be populated with the multi-value list.

4. Link the Join formula in the main report to the stored procedure parameter in the subreport. Doing so passes a multi-value parameter to the stored procedure.

 

 

I followed step 1 and 2 but I am getting an error message "A String array is required here" and I am not able to continue further. I followed the basic that is the parameter which I had created is of String type only.

 

 

I am attaching the code of stored procedure for further analysis.

 

 

Looking forward for a support at the earliest possible.

Crystal Reports 2008 and 2013 on the same machine?

Can Crystal Reports 2008 and 2013 coexist peacefully on the same machine?

 

One of my users has CR 2008 installed on his workstation in order to support a vendor application that has embedded CR 2008 reports.  Can he also have CR 2013 installed on that same machine?

 

We have BusinessObjects environment is 4.1 SP01 Patch 2.

Empty label on ZEBRA GC420t from Crytal Reports

Dear Experts,

 

I made a label in Crystal Reports for SAP Business One 8.82.

It works from work orders.

I imported it into SAP B1. When I ticked the print layout icon I can see the label.

I want to print it on the ZEBRA printer, the label is empty.

I tried to print 8 labels, the printer pushed 8 labels out, but all of them are empty.

(It can count the labes well.)

I printed it on another printer (Samsung SCX-4521F) it works fine, the label is on the center of the A4 sheet.

What is the problem?

Crystal Reports 2011 with Universe Error

Hi,


     I want to have my crystal report to use the universe as a database connection to retrieve data. But after I drag the fields required to the query, there is an error said "invalid argument provided. details: crystalenterprise14.fw_properties.1: item si_webi was not found in the collection. I do not have problem when i use in webi. Is there any settings required? I am using BO 4.1 SP1. The universe is using a connection to sql server. My crystal report 2011 is installed in a Windows 7 64-bit machine. Thanks in advance.

showing average of summarized field in cross tab

Hello , I have created the following report . I would like to have an average tasks by each name per day.

Is it possible to calculate this, can anyone help? To calculate tasks I use task ID field so in Cross tab expert, after I insert this field I cant use summarized fields, change summary "Average"

The client wants to view the crytsl reports through IBM BPM web portal. Could you please help us how it can be implemented ?

Sum shared numbervar in group footer

Hi Experts,

 

I have a problem to sum the group footer totals correctly.

This is the situation;

------------

Main report:

 

productcode -A- (group header 1)

 

Invoicenumber 1     10 euro (record comes from sub report 1)

                         2     20 euro (record comes from sub report 1)

                         3     30 euro (record comes from sub report 1)

                         4     40 euro (record comes from sub report 2)

                         5     50 euro (record comes from sub report 2)  

 

product code -A- (group footer 1) Total : 90 euro (sum of records from sub report 2 via shared numbervar)

 

productcode -B- (next record group header 1)

 

Invoicenumber 4     20 euro  (record comes from sub report 2)                           

                         5     30 euro (record comes from sub report 2)

 

product code -B- (group footer 1) Total : 50 euro (sum of records from subreport 2 via shared numbervar)

 

----------------------------

And now the problem: I am trying to sum the records from product code A, invoice numbers 1,2,3 with the sum of the records from sub report 2.

It should give me a total of 150 euro instead of the 90 euro. I have no problem to get this done via a shared numbervar formula. But the problem is that the Total of product code B increased also with this shared numbervar formula, so the total of productcode B becomes 110 euro instead of 50 euro.

Is there a way to solve this ? Is there a solution to make sure it will only sum for the correct product code?

Customised Crystal report Query and Design?

Hi Experts,

i have attached an image of a customer's ageing analysis in SAP and the customer wants a customized report that will display exactly as it is.

 

the customer wants to see the cumulative balance per customer is it in the image attached with the population been on invoices and JE as well as it in the SAP ageing .

 

 

 

Please your urgent reply is needed.

 

Atleast the query to help me arrive at this and probably a sample crystal report design.

Suppress printing if no records - does not work?

Hello,

 

I'm using crystal reports XI to print labels fired by application. Label had condition in record selection in select expert that works fine - no records are returned when they are not proper for the condition. Still crystal generated empty page for the printer. I recoded DB view that is used for the label and set condition in it. Now query does not return any rows, I deleted condition in select expert - still crystal prints empty page.

 

Suppress printing if no record is selected both in File - Report Options and File - Options - Reporting.

 

I searched for similar situation on forum but didn't find exactly the same.
